Quest Active Roles Training

Quest Active Roles is the identity-lifecycle component of Quest Identity Security and Resilience, the protection-focused solution within the Quest Security Management Platform. It handles least-privilege delegation across hybrid Active Directory and Entra ID, drives automated provisioning and deprovisioning, and keeps a full change audit trail for every action it takes. LeadThem Consulting has run Active Roles in client environments since 2005, and we deliver the training program that turns the product documentation into operating fluency.

Four courses are offered. Each is available as live instructor-led training (ILT) or as self-paced student-led training (SLT) through the virtual training center.

Active Roles 5-Day Comprehensive

Five-day hands-on course that covers the full role of Active Roles in an Active Directory environment. The right starting point for an administrator who will own the platform end to end.

Active Roles Administration

Two-day course for administrators who already have Active Roles deployed and need to run it well. Focused on the operating model rather than the install.

Active Roles Installation and Configuration

One-day course focused on a clean install and base configuration. The right course for an engineer who is standing the product up for the first time and will hand operations to someone else.

Active Roles PowerShell Scripting

Two-day course on PowerShell scripting against Active Roles. Covers the object model that Active Roles exposes to scripts, the “Q” cmdlets that distinguish Active Roles scripting from native AD cmdlets, and the patterns for building basic management scripts.

Need Active Roles run as an ongoing service?

Standing up Active Roles is one decision; operating it well over years is another. LeadThem delivers Active Roles as part of an Identity Security and Resilience managed engagement, with the same team that wrote the training. All of our resources are Quest Certified. See our Identity Recovery and Resilience managed service or contact us to scope the engagement.
