Quest Archive Manager for Exchange is an email-archiving product. It captures, stores, and indexes mailbox content for long-term retention, eDiscovery, and mailbox-size control. This is the operations class for messaging teams who already run Archive Manager, or who are about to put it into production, and need to operate it day to day rather than just install it once and walk away. If your project is to move mail out of one archive into another, that is a different product (Quest Archive Shuttle) and a different conversation; this course is about running the archive itself.
The course is offered as live instructor-led training (ILT) or as self-paced student-led training (SLT) through the virtual training center.
Two-day hands-on course covering the deployment and ongoing operation of Quest Archive Manager for Exchange in a working messaging environment.

The two products get confused because the names are similar and both touch email archives, but they do different jobs. Quest Archive Manager for Exchange is the archive: it runs in production, ingests mail on an ongoing basis, and serves retrieval and eDiscovery requests. Quest Archive Shuttle is a migration tool: it moves archived data from one archive platform to another (for example, an older third-party archive into Exchange Online or into Archive Manager). If your project is operating an archive, this is the course. If your project is decommissioning an old archive or consolidating archives onto a new platform, the Archive Shuttle training is the right starting point.
For most clients, the archive is one of several Microsoft 365 and on-premises systems that have to be operated together. We run Archive Manager as part of a broader managed IT engagement: messaging health, retention policy, mailbox and archive growth monitoring, and the inevitable eDiscovery and legal-hold requests that hit the archive first. All of our resources are Quest Certified. See our outsourced IT management service or contact us to scope the engagement.
