Quest GPOADmin Training

Quest GPOADmin is the toolset LeadThem Consulting recommends for Active Directory shops that have outgrown the native Group Policy Management Console (GPMC). If your team has more than a handful of administrators editing GPOs, an audit cycle that asks "who changed what, and why?", or a change-control process that the GPMC cannot enforce, GPOADmin is the upgrade path. It adds version control, role-based delegation, approval workflows, and the ability to cloak GPOs from operators who should not see them. GPOADmin sits in the Operations bucket of the Quest portfolio. It is outside the two solutions of the Quest Security Management Platform, and it pairs naturally with Active Roles for delegation and Recovery Manager for Active Directory for backup and recovery.

GPOADmin (course)

Two-day hands-on course covering installation, day-to-day operations, and the governance features that justify bringing GPOADmin into a production AD environment. Available as live instructor-led training (ILT) or as self-paced student-led training (SLT) through the virtual training center.

• Duration: 2 days instructor-led, or self-paced equivalent
• Audience: Active Directory administrators and operations engineers responsible for Group Policy at scale
• You will learn to: install the GPOADmin toolset, work with the version control system, delegate roles to users of the GPOADmin client, lock down GPOs for protection and security, and cloak GPOs so they are not visible without appropriate permissions
• Prerequisites: working knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy administration is recommended
• Tuition: $2,730 per student

Coming from native GPMC?

If your administrators are still editing Group Policy directly through GPMC, the gaps are familiar: no real version history, no approval workflow before a change goes live, no way to roll a single setting back without restoring from a backup, and a delegation model that effectively forces you to grant edit rights on the whole policy.
